Following the rules of the Forex Runner trading strategy, I used the swing low price of 2.0311 (purple line) @ 14:00EST as my starting point where the GBP/USD pair started moving upward. Once price reached 2.0341 (30 pips from swing low - yellow line), I placed a long trade, setting my initial SL (Stop Loss – short red line) 20 pips to the downside at 2.0321 and my TP (Take Profit) target 40 pips away at 2.0381. At 15:45EST my price target of 2.0381 was hit. I let this trade run a little longer because as you can see, price stated to go sideways and I wanted to see if I could get more out of the trade. However at 16:40EST, price appeared to be creeping downward so I exited at 2.0381 for a 40 pip profit. As you can also see, if I had held on longer and weathered the drop to 2.0364, the pair climbed back up for another 30 pips! The thing is, we never know where price is going, so always stick to your trading strategy. I took my 40 pip profit and this was a great trade.
